These square planter boxes are designed with flat, slatted bases to ensure easy drainage during rainfall so you avoid a build up of water that may drown your beautiful plants. For wooden planters we would recommend the use of plastic liners, such as a compost bag or pond liner to keep the soil moist, however you must remember to pierce holes in the liners for drainage or use geo textile lining in your square planter which allows the soil to breathe.
